IMPORTANT INTAKE NOTICE — August 30, 2026

Our intake and surrender department is currently CLOSED TO ALL CATS, including both owned cats and strays.

While this closure is in effect:

We cannot accept cats under any circumstances.

All surrender applications—whether for an owned cat or a stray—will be denied.

No exceptions can be made.

Submitting an application does not place a cat on a waiting list or reserve a future intake appointment.

We will reopen the intake department only when the shelter is no longer operating beyond maximum capacity and we can safely and responsibly accept additional cats.

Please do not bring cats to the shelter or leave animals outside our facility. Abandoning an animal at a shelter does not make it a safe or approved surrender.

If you need to surrender your cat, or a cat you have found or return a Paws adopted cat, please click on our "Surrender Tab" and fill out the application. We do not reply to "contact us" emails regarding surrendering. We do not give surrender/return appointments without a surrender form completed through the "Surrender Tab". We are unable to approve a surrender or return via "Contact Us" emails. Walk-ins to shelter will not be accepted and we do not have same day appointments available for surrenders or returns.
